Can I use my TxTag in more than one vehicle?
No. Since your TxTag sticker must be permanently mounted on your windshield, it can only be used in one vehicle and should not be moved between vehicles. If you have more than one vehicle in your family or household, you can order additional TxTags and manage them on one account. If you are signed up for AutoPay, you will not be charged a fee for additional tags.
Can I activate my TxTag online?
If you order a tag online or by phone, it will arrive already activated and ready to install in your vehicle immediately. To view a list of active TxTags on your account or make any account updates, simply log in.
How do I check my TxTag account balance?
You may check your account balance by logging into your account online or by calling the TxTag Customer Service Center.
What happens if my TxTag account balance goes negative?
If you have a TxTag account that goes negative, you will pay the higher Pay By Mail toll rates until you replenish your account. You will keep the same account number and all tolls will be posted to that account.
What is AutoPay?
With AutoPay, your TxTag account is linked to a credit card or bank account, which will be charged automatically when your TxTag account drops to a preset low balance amount. You never have to worry about whether there is enough money in your account to cover the cost of your tolls. There is no fee for this service, and you can sign up at any time by logging into your account or calling the TxTag Customer Service Center.
What is my low balance threshold for replenishing my TxTag account?
The low balance threshold and AutoPay replenishment amount will depend on the number of vehicles in your account. See “Attachment A—Account Parameters” in the TxTag License and Use Agreement. The replenishment amount may be adjusted periodically based on increased tag usage.
Can I have more than one vehicle on an account?
Yes. You can manage multiple vehicles on a single TxTag account. Each vehicle will need a TxTag sticker assigned to it.
Is there a charge for the TxTag sticker?
Customers who are signed up for AutoPay (automatic replenishment) will not be charged for their TxTag stickers. Customers not enrolled in AutoPay will be charged $7.99 for new or replacement TxTag stickers.
How do I update the information on my TxTag account? What if I change license plates?
You may update your mailing address, email, phone numbers, payment methods, vehicles, and license plate information by logging into your account. Select the “Profile,” “Payment,” or “Vehicle and Tags” options from the menu under “Manage Account” to make the updates. If you move, it’s also important to update the address on your vehicle title by submitting Form VTR-146 with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
How do I add vehicles to my TxTag account?
You can add vehicles to your account and request more tags by logging into your account and selecting “Vehicles and Tags” from the menu under “Manage Account.” You can also add vehicles by calling the TxTag Customer Service Center. Be sure to have your TxTag account number available.
If you have vehicles on separate TxTag accounts and would like to combine them on one account, call the TxTag Customer Service Center and a representative can assist you.

I have a TxTag account. Why did I get a bill?
If you have a TxTag account but you do not have enough money in your account to cover your tolls, you will receive a bill in the mail that includes tolls charged at the higher Pay By Mail rates. The monthly statement will also include a $1.15 mail fee. You will continue to be charged at the Pay By Mail rates until your TxTag account is replenished.
You could also receive a bill if your TxTag was not detected on the toll road and your license plate does not match an existing account. Contact the TxTag Customer Service Center so we can move your tolls to your TxTag account and update your license plate information.
If you get a toll bill from another toll agency, you will need to resolve payment directly with that agency. It’s important to keep your TxTag installed in your vehicle and your license plate information up to date to ensure that tolls are charged correctly to your TxTag account.

What if I sell my vehicle?
Remove and discard the TxTag sticker from the vehicle you’re selling and deactivate the tag by updating your account online or by calling the TxTag Customer Service Center, so your account is not linked to a vehicle you no longer own. Even though your vehicle has been sold, you are liable for toll charges until the title is transferred to the new owner or until you submit a motor vehicle transfer notification. If you receive a toll statement for a vehicle you no longer own, file a Vehicle Transfer Notification Form (VTR-346) with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and call us at 1-888-468-9824 after you receive confirmation of the title transfer.
