Grand Parkway - SH 99

Six segments of the planned 184-mile Grand Parkway (State Highway 99) loop circling the Houston metro region are now open, and drivers can travel nonstop through the northwest side of Houston from I-10 near Katy to I-69/US59 north of Houston. In addition to helping alleviate traffic congestion in some of the area’s fastest-growing communities, the Grand Parkway provides additional hurricane and emergency evacuation routes for the greater Houston area. Once completed, the Grand Parkway’s 11 segments—designated A through I-2—will travel through seven counties. Detailed segment information can be found at www.grandpky.com.

  • Segment D is 18 miles of roadway from I-69S (US59S), north to I-10W. The portion from I-69S to north of the Westpark Toll Road is operated by the Fort Bend County Grand Parkway Toll Road Authority. The portion from the Westpark Toll Road north to I-10W is a non-toll section maintained by TxDOT. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pay my tolls with cash?
No. All tolls are collected electronically on the Grand Parkway, so there is no stopping to pay at a tollbooth. You must have a prepaid toll account. All three toll tags used in Texas (TxTag, EZ TAG, and TollTag), plus METRO HOT Lanes Toll Tag are accepted. You can open a TxTag account online or by calling 888-468-9824.

What happens if I don't have a tag to pay tolls?
The only way to pay tolls on the Grand Parkway is with a TxTag, EZ TAG, TollTag, or METRO HOT Lanes Toll Tag. If you do not have a prepaid tag - or do not have enough money in your toll account to cover the cost of your tolls - you will receive a Notice of Toll Violation with a $5.00 fee for each toll charge. Drivers who fail to pay violation notices on time are subject to collection fees and court fines that can add up to $350 per violation.

Do I have to pay if someone else was driving my car on the toll road?
Yes. Under Texas law, owners of vehicles are responsible for any toll charges or violations, regardless of who was driving at the time. Notices of Toll Violation will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle.

Please keep your toll tag installed on your windshield and ensure your account information is up-to-date, including your license plate number, so that toll charges can be correctly applied to your account.
