The TxTag sticker is a thin device that goes on the inside of your windshield behind your rearview mirror. It is slightly smaller than your vehicle registration or inspection sticker. TxTag uses an electronic chip and your windshield´s glass to send its signal to the electronic equipment above toll lanes. That´s why the tag must be permanently placed on the windshield and cannot be moved between vehicles without damaging the chip inside.

Where to Get a TxTag
Online: When you order your TxTag online, it will be mailed to your home within 3-4 business days. When it arrives, it is already activated and ready for immediate installation. Fill out the online application form to receive your TxTag.
TxTag Customer Service Center: You can also sign up for your TxTag at the TxTag Customer ServiceCenter, where cash, check, money order, and credit card payments are accepted.
TxTag Retailers: AAA Texas and Brookshire’s are making it even more convenient for Texas motorists to use statewide toll roads.
TxTag Promotional Events: You may get your TxTag at one of the many locations on the TxTag Mobile tour.
Roadway Toll Plazas: In the Austin area, you can pick up a TxTag at all mainline toll plazas on Loop 1, SH 45, and SH 130. Purchase your tag from a toll booth attendant, and you'll be ready to roll with $20 in pre-paid tolls. Only cash is accepted at toll booths.
